Dr. Schwan has been with the Roche Group for more than30 years. Dr. Schwan joined Roche in 1993. From 1998 to 2000, he served as Head of Finance and Information at Roche Germany in Grenzach; from 2000 to 2004, he became Global Head of Finance and Services for Roche Diagnostics Ltd. in Basel; from 2004 to 2006, he led Roche Diagnostics Asia Pacific in Singapore; from 2006 to 2008, he served as CEO of Roche Diagnostics; from 2008 to 2023, he was CEO of the Roche Group; and since March 2023, he has served as Chairman of the Roche Group Board of Directors. Dr. Schwan is also a member of the Global Chief Executive Officers Committee (GCC) and serves as both Executive and Incoming Chair of the International Business Leaders Advisory Council (IBLAC) to the Mayor of Shanghai, where he continues to provide strategic guidance, making exceptional contributions to advancing innovative medicines and cutting-edge diagnostic technologies for the benefit of more patients in China.
