Dr. Gary S. GuthartHe has served as Executive Chairman of the Board since 2025, bringing over 30 years of experience in medical technology. He was Chief Executive Officer of Intuitive Surgical for more than 15 years and was one of the company's original core engineers. Early in his career, Dr. Guthart worked at SRI International on computer-assisted surgery research and served as a Human Factors Engineer at NASA. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and both Master's and Ph.D. degrees from the California Institute of Technology.
