A seasoned executive in healthcare and electronic materials industries with decades of leadership experience across Asia. He served as President of Merck China and Managing Director of Merck's Electronics business sector in China since 2018. Prior to this, he was President of Asia Pacific for Merck's biopharma business and President and CEO for the biopharma business in China, where he spearheaded major investments including a €170 million pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Nantong. Before joining Merck, he spent 25 years at Pfizer in leadership roles including Chairman and General Manager for China and Regional President for North Asia, Russia, India, Turkey and Eastern Europe, directing the launch of numerous innovative medicines into China and establishing Pfizer's China Regional Investment Center and R&D center in Shanghai.

 

He was elected Chairman of AmCham Shanghai in January 2024, representing over 2,800 members from 1,000+ companies. Currently a Permanent Resident of Shanghai, he supports MNCs and Chinese globalizers through Shanghai Goal Advisory and specializes in the globalization of China-based pharmaceutical assets at Advent International. A two-time recipient of the Magnolia Award from the Shanghai municipal government, he holds a BA in Communications from the College of Wooster and pursued further education at the University of Tennessee and Harvard Business School.
